The Black Mace is a daemon weapon of dreadful renown, its haft and head wreathed in a nimbus of decay that spreads plague and dissolution wherever it falls. Bound within it is a bloated daemon of the Plague God, and each blow it lands unleashes a contagion that spreads from victim to victim in a cascade of rotting death.
Borne by champions among the Chaos Space Marines, the mace withers all it touches, its curse leaping between bodies until whole ranks lie fallen to sickness and ruin. Yet like all the cursed weapons favoured by the servants of the Dark Gods, it exacts a price from its wielder, for the daemon within hungers ceaselessly and turns its malice upon any hand too weak to master it.
The daemon of the Chaos Daemons sealed within the Black Mace whispers constantly of decay and surrender, seeking to drown its bearer in the same rot it visits upon their foes. Only a champion of iron will may wield such a weapon and remain themselves, and even they walk a knife's edge, ever aware that the mace would sooner claim their soul than serve it.
