The Wych is a gladiatorial killer of the dark city, a lithe and acrobatic warrior who hones her lethal art in the blood-soaked arenas of Commorragh. Members of the Wych Cults, these fighters revel in close combat, dancing between the blows of their foes with impossible grace and answering each near-miss with a flashing, killing strike.
Eschewing heavy armour for speed and agility, Wyches trust in their reflexes and their combat drugs, potent stimulants that heighten their strength, senses and savagery to superhuman levels. They wield an array of vicious blades, whips and hooks, and delight in the theatre of slaughter, drawing out a duel to savour their opponent's fear before the final blow. In the arenas they slay monsters and captives for a baying crowd; in war they bring that same murderous artistry to the battlefield.
As the arena-champions of the Drukhari, Wyches embody the reckless, hedonistic cruelty of their kind. Every kill is both a performance and a feast, feeding the dark hunger of a people who can only stave off spiritual oblivion through the agony and death of others.
