The Templar Brethren were an elite veteran order of the Imperial Fists Legion, master swordsmen who upheld the martial traditions and codes of honour cherished by their Primarch, Rogal Dorn. Where much of the Legion excelled in siege and defence, the Templar Brethren embodied the older warrior-ideals of the blade, meeting the foe face to face in close and honourable slaughter.
Armed with power weapons and boarding blades, they formed the tip of the spear in the Legion's assaults, their discipline and skill at arms making them peerless in the press of melee. They bore themselves as knights of a bygone age, guardians of ritual and oath.
When the Heresy came, the Imperial Fists turned their every talent to the defence of Terra, and the Templar Brethren fought amid the horror of the final siege. Their spirit and heraldry would later echo through one of the most famous of all Second Founding Chapters.
