Macro-Cannon

A macro-cannon is a class of enormous artillery weapon so large that it can only be mounted on war machines, fortifications, and the void-faring warships of the Imperium. Firing shells the size of vehicles, or larger still, a macro-cannon delivers a blow capable of levelling buildings, gutting armoured behemoths, and shattering the hulls of enemy starships. These are weapons built on a scale that dwarfs anything an infantryman might carry, engines of destruction meant to break the strongest targets on the battlefield or in the void.

On land, macro-cannons arm the towering god-machines known as Titans and the heaviest fortifications, hurling apocalyptic firepower across the field. In the darkness of space, batteries of macro-cannons form the primary armament of many warships, trading broadsides with enemy vessels across the gulf between worlds. A single well-placed shell can breach a starship's armoured flanks and vent its decks to the void.

The manufacture and maintenance of such colossal weapons demand the rites and expertise of the Imperium's most skilled artificers. Each macro-cannon is a temple of destruction in its own right, its firing accompanied by solemn ritual and the roar of unimaginable force. Where lesser guns wound, the macro-cannon annihilates, embodying the vast, industrial scale on which the wars of the 41st millennium are so often fought.
