The Knights of the Blazing Sun are a templar order sworn to Myrmidia, the goddess of war and strategy revered across the southern lands and honoured in the Empire of Man. The order was founded when a company of imperial knights, besieged and near death in far Araby, were delivered by what they swore was the goddess herself, and in gratitude they took her blazing sun as their sigil and her worship as their creed.
Unlike the wilder templar orders, the Knights of the Blazing Sun temper their courage with discipline, studying the arts of war as devoutly as they study their faith. They hold that battle is a craft to be mastered, and their commanders are as much tacticians as warriors, drilling their knights in manoeuvre and formation until they fight as a single living blade. This marriage of martial faith and cold strategy makes them formidable beyond their numbers.
The order's temples double as academies of war, and its knights are welcomed in Tilea and Estalia as readily as in Nuln or Talabheim. They ride against the enemies of civilisation wherever Myrmidia's light must be carried, standing firm against the ratmen and the beastmen and the ever-hungry legions of the Warriors of Chaos. To the Blazing Sun, victory is not luck nor mere valour, but the reward owed to those who make war a form of worship.
