A Warrior Priest is an ordained militant of the Cult of Sigmar, a holy man who carries his faith not through sermon alone but through the crushing blows of a warhammer upon the enemies of the Empire of Man. Where lesser priests tend shrines, the Warrior Priests march to war, girding the common soldiery with courage and calling down divine favour upon the battlefield.
Trained in both scripture and slaughter, a Warrior Priest wields prayers that can steel a faltering line, shield the faithful from harm, or smite the unholy with righteous fury. Their very presence lends heart to state troops who might otherwise break, for a soldier fights all the harder knowing Sigmar's blessing stands beside him.
Warrior Priests are especially loathed by the servants of Chaos and the undead, whose corrupted flesh recoils from consecrated ground and holy invocation. In the darkest hours, when hope wavers and the enemy presses close, it is often the roared prayers of a Warrior Priest that turn rout into resolve.
