The Vampire Bloodlines are the great dynasties of the undead, descended from the first vampires created by the sorceress Neferata of ancient Nehekhara. Each bloodline traces its lineage to one of her original get and bears distinct powers, obsessions, and curses passed down through the dark gift of vampirism to all who join its ranks.
The most infamous are the von Carsteins, whose aristocratic counts once ruled Sylvania and waged war upon the Empire; the seductive Lahmians, who work through whispered intrigue and hidden courts; the martial Blood Dragons, who seek perfection at arms above all; the scholarly and monstrous Necrarchs, obsessed with forbidden magic; and the bestial Strigoi, cursed to a feral, ghoulish existence after their kingdom was destroyed.
Though all share a thirst for blood and a mastery of the dark arts, the bloodlines are riven by ancient rivalries and rarely unite. Each pursues its own dread ambitions across the centuries, and where a vampire lord rises, the dead rise with him to serve his eternal hunger for dominion.
