Such relics, whether functioning cogitators, self-repairing armour, or weapons of terrifying power, are prized above almost all else, for the knowledge to create them anew has long since been lost.
The Adeptus Mechanicus regards archeotech as sacred beyond measure, the physical remnants of an age when the Machine God's gifts flowed freely. Tech-priests spend lifetimes seeking such artefacts, and the discovery of a single working Standard Template Construct fragment can elevate a forge world to greatness or ignite wars between rival factions.
Because the Imperium no longer truly innovates, treating experimentation as heresy, archeotech represents a higher order of craft than anything its artisans can produce.
