The Battle of Finuval Plain

Upon a mist-wreathed plain, the reborn Everqueen's champion turned back a druchii invasion that had nearly drowned all Ulthuan in darkness.

When the Witch King launched his greatest assault upon the Blessed Isle, the dark-elves swept inland like a black flood, and the high-elf-realms were driven to the very brink of ruin. It was upon the fog-shrouded expanse of Finuval Plain that the tide was finally met, in the clash remembered as The Battle of Finuval Plain.

The druchii host was vast and confident, its sorceresses wreathing the field in unnatural mists at Morathi's command. Yet the asur had a champion. Teclis, frail of body but mightiest of mages, took the field though the effort might kill him, and the reborn Everqueen's cause lent the defenders a desperate resolve. As the two armies ground together in the murk, it became a battle of will as much as blade, spellfire searing the fog to steam.

At the crisis, Teclis unleashed a working of such catastrophic power that the druchii sorceries were unmade and their army's heart torn out. The dark elf host, so near to total victory, shattered and fled toward their ships. The slaughter of the retreat was terrible. Finuval Plain did not end the ancient war between the sundered kin, for that hatred is eternal, but it broke the single most dangerous invasion Ulthuan had endured since the Sundering itself, and bought the dying High Elf realm another age of twilight.
