Games Workshop launches central Events hub and updates ITC rankings

Games Workshop has launched a dedicated Events section on the Warhammer Community website, centralising tournament schedules, event organiser resources, and competitive rankings. Alongside the new hub, the publisher has formally renamed the International Tournament Circuit (ITC) to the Warhammer Global Rankings.

The new page serves as a landing point for official events, such as Warhammer Opens and the National Tournament Series, alongside independent major conventions attended by Games Workshop staff. It provides links to organiser guides, downloadable resources, and details regarding qualification for the World Championships of Warhammer.

Several upcoming stops in the Warhammer National Tournament Series have been highlighted. UK events include Epsom Downs (hosting Warhammer 40,000 Singles and Warhammer Age of Sigmar Doubles), Telford (hosting Warhammer 40,000 Doubles and Warhammer Age of Sigmar Singles), and Kempton Park (hosting Warhammer 40,000 Singles and Warhammer Age of Sigmar Doubles). Overseas events include official Opens in Krakow, Atlanta, and Palm Springs, as well as a National Tournament Series stop in Tokyo.

Rebranding the ITC to Warhammer Global Rankings

The update replaces the long-running International Tournament Circuit name and logo with the Warhammer Global Rankings. The core structure remains focused on logging player performance across global, regional, and local events, tracking generalship, painting achievements, and faction performance across different game systems.

Implications for faction specialists and competitive play

For competitive players and faction specialists, the global rankings continue to offer end-of-season recognition for top-ranking generalship, hobby scores, and individual faction performance within each game system.

The system now carries direct qualification weight for the World Championships of Warhammer. At the mid-way point of each season, the highest-ranked players in eligible countries who have not yet won an invitation through an event will be awarded a golden ticket. Additionally, group stage pools at the World Championships will now be formed and seeded using player positions on the Global Rankings charts.

For players specialising in a single army, this structured ranking system provides a tangible metric for performance regardless of whether their chosen faction currently sits at the top of the competitive meta. High placings in faction-specific ladders remain tracked, while consistent performance at local or regional events now offers a clearer path towards high-level tournament seeding and late-season World Championship invitations.
