Hellstriders of Slaanesh are the mortal cavalry of the Hedonite hosts, thrill-seekers who long ago discarded every pleasure but the chase. Mounted upon Steeds of Slaanesh — long-limbed, sharp-clawed daemon-beasts that run down anything that flees — they range ahead of the main host, drunk on speed and the promise of fresh sensation.
Some bear cruel hellscourges, barbed whips that flay flesh and shred resolve alike; others carry slingshields and long hunting-spears, striking from the gallop before wheeling away untouched. Whatever their weapon, the Hellstriders fight as huntsmen rather than soldiers, less interested in holding ground than in the exquisite moment of the kill. In battle they serve as skirmishers and herders, worrying at the enemy's flanks and driving broken units into the waiting embrace of Slaanesh's daemons. To ride with them is to chase every fleeing foe to the horizon and beyond, for to a Hedonite the pursuit is sweeter than the catching, and no sensation is worth having unless it is taken at a full and reckless gallop.
