The Fyreslayers are a fierce and singular culture of duardin, sons of the slain fire-god Grimnir whose shattered essence rained across the realms in flecks of a sacred metal called ur-gold. They believe that by reclaiming every mote of that metal and pounding it into their own flesh as glowing runes, they may one day resurrect their god. This holy greed drives them, for ur-gold lies hidden in the hearts of monsters, in old hoards, and in the coffers of desperate kings.
From volcanic magmaholds the Fyreslayers sell their axes as the most feared mercenaries in the Mortal Realms, though they take payment only in ur-gold. Bare-chested and crested with fire-red hair, their berserkers wade into battle radiating furnace heat, and their runes flare brighter with each foe slain until they blaze like living coals.
Yet the Fyreslayers are no mere sellswords. Behind their avarice lies a solemn faith, tended by priests who read Grimnir's will in the flames. Rival lodges war over disputed hoards, and a broken oath is answered in blood. Grim, half-mad and burning with divine purpose, they hew their scattered god from the bones of the world one bloody battle at a time.
