Mechanicus weapon

Omnissian Axe

A sacred energised axe and symbol of Machine God authority, its power-wreathed blade cleaving armour as readily as it blesses cogitators.

The Omnissian Axe is at once a weapon of war and a holy symbol, the ceremonial staff-blade borne by the priesthood of the Machine God as a mark of rank and sacred authority. Its haft is often crowned with the cog-toothed skull of the Mechanicus, and its head is a heavy energised blade wreathed in a disruptive field capable of cleaving through armour, bone, and the hulls of war-machines with a single deliberate stroke.

Carried by the magi and tech-priests of the adeptus-mechanicus, the Omnissian Axe serves as both instrument of destruction and tool of ritual. In the forge and the reliquary it is used to bless machinery and consecrate the sacred rites of maintenance, its presence a benediction upon the cogitators and engines the priesthood tends. Yet upon the battlefield it becomes something far more terrible, an executioner's blade wielded with the augmented strength of a body remade in iron and sanctity.

To be struck down by an Omnissian Axe is to be judged unworthy by the servants of the Machine God, cut apart by a weapon that embodies the union of faith and technology. Each is a treasured artefact, passed down through the cult's hierarchy and maintained with reverence beyond measure. In its dual nature as symbol and slaughter-tool, the axe perfectly reflects the grim faith of those who wield it, for whom war and worship are one and the same.
