Solid-projectile weapon

Heavy Stubber

A rugged, belt-fed automatic weapon that hoses the battlefield with a torrent of solid rounds, favoured for its brutal reliability.

The Heavy Stubber is a crude and dependable engine of suppression, a belt-fed automatic weapon that spits solid rounds in a ceaseless hammering torrent. It lacks the sophistication of energy weapons, yet what it lacks in elegance it more than repays in sheer volume of fire, filling the air with lead until the enemy is cut down or driven cowering into cover.

Countless patterns exist across the Imperium, from crude ganger-forged models to the standardised armaments of the astra-militarum, where the Heavy Stubber arms sentry positions, gun-crews, and the pintle-mounts of countless tanks and transports. Its virtue is reliability, for it needs no delicate cooling and no exotic fuel, only ammunition and a steady hand to feed the belt. In the mud and filth of a thousand warzones, it fires when finer weapons fail.

To the common soldier, the Heavy Stubber is a comforting sound, its rhythmic chatter a wall of protection between the trench and the horde beyond. To the enemy, it is a scythe of ricochets and shattering impacts that pins them in place and reaps them as they charge. Unglamorous and eternally useful, it endures across the millennia as one of the humble backbone weapons upon which the survival of Imperial infantry so often depends.
