Psychic Weapon

Force Weapon

A psychic conduit given a killing edge, through which a psyker channels the warp to immolate a victim's very soul.

A force weapon is a psychic conduit given a killing edge — a blade, staff, axe or halberd wrought from rare materials and inscribed with binding sigils, through which a psyker may channel the raw power of his mind. In mundane hands it is merely a well-made weapon; in a psyker's grip it becomes a lethal focus for the fury of the warp.

When its wielder wills it, a force weapon blazes with barely contained energy, and a wound that would otherwise be survivable becomes instantly, absolutely fatal as the psyker's power immolates the victim's soul. Against daemons and other creatures of the warp it is doubly deadly, unmaking them where ordinary steel cannot so much as touch their unnatural forms.

Such weapons are borne by the Librarians of the Space Marines, by the sanctioned Primaris Psykers of the Guard, and above all by the Grey Knights, whose warded blades are forged for the sole purpose of banishing the Neverborn back to the hell that spawned them. Each is a treasure and a peril in equal measure, for the power that makes it lethal answers to a mind, and a mind that falters in the presence of the warp invites damnation. To carry one is to be both a weapon and a battlefield unto oneself. In the end it is less a weapon than a test, one that measures a psyker's discipline with every stroke, and rewards mastery with power enough to slay the unkillable — or answers failure with a fate far worse than any clean death.
