The Helbrute is the damned counterpart to the loyalist Dreadnought, a towering war machine that entombs a broken Traitor Marine within its armoured sarcophagus. Where once such internment was an honour, for the servants of Chaos it is a torment, for the warrior inside is neither fully dead nor truly alive, driven to howling madness by centuries of confinement.
A Helbrute is a creature of rage and misery, roused to battle only to sate its endless fury. When unleashed, it lays about itself with crushing power fists and roaring weapons, indifferent to whether it crushes foe or ally in its frenzy. The tormented pilot cares nothing for tactics, seeking only to spend his cursed existence in an orgy of destruction before he is returned to his prison of iron and shadow.
Maintained by the dark artificers of the Chaos Space Marines, Helbrutes are woken from dormancy when the war-host has need of their brutal strength. They are the ruined echoes of fallen heroes, walking mausoleums that channel eternal suffering into unrelenting slaughter across the battlefields of the Long War.
