Wolfenburg is the capital of Ostland, one of the bleaker and more embattled provinces of the Empire of Man. Set amid the cold northern reaches, it is a frontier city surrounded by dark and haunted woodlands, its walls a slender line between the works of men and the savagery that prowls the wilds beyond.

The folk of Wolfenburg are grim and hard-bitten, for their province has ever borne the brunt of invasion from the north. Beastmen stalk the surrounding forests, and the shadow of Chaos incursion looms perpetually over Ostland's borders. The city's soldiery, clad in the black and white of their province, are famed for their dour courage, holding their ground where others might break and flee.

Wolfenburg has known both prosperity and ruin across its history, sacked and rebuilt as the fortunes of war have turned. Its people carry the weight of their exposed position with stoic endurance, trusting in Sigmar, in gunpowder, and in cold steel to see them through the long dark. In the grim north of the Empire, Wolfenburg stands as a defiant hearth-fire against the encroaching night.
