Karaz-a-Karak, the Everpeak, is the greatest and oldest of the dwarf holds and the capital of the Dwarfen Mountain Holds. Delved into the tallest peak of the southern World's Edge Mountains, it has stood unbroken since the dawn of the dwarf race, and its name means the Pinnacle of Eternity — a boast the dwarfs have made good across more than four thousand years of siege, earthquake, and war.
Here sits the High King, overlord of all dwarfs and first among the kings of the holds, upon the Throne of Power. Before him lies the Great Book of Grudges, the master ledger in which every wrong done to the dwarf race is recorded in the High King's own hand, to be avenged or carried as a debt of shame. The hold's halls are wonders of stonecraft: pillared galleries miles deep, vaults heaped with gold, and the finest forges in the world, where the runesmiths work the runes that no other people can match.
Karaz-a-Karak is the beating heart of the dwarf realm and the anchor of its ancient alliance with the Empire, sealed by Sigmar himself. While the Everpeak stands, the dwarfs endure; and though their glory has faded and their holds have fallen one by one, the High King's city has never once been taken. To the dwarfs it is proof that stone, grudges, and grim endurance will outlast any foe.
