Sky-port

The Sky-Port of Barak-Nar

The oldest and wisest of the Kharadron sky-ports, a floating metropolis of aether-gold, guild law, and endlessly ambitious admirals.

The Sky-Port of Barak-Nar is the eldest of the great aether-endrin cities, called the City of the First Sunrise, and among the Kharadron Overlords its word carries the weight of ages. Suspended above the clouds by vast aether-gold endrins, Barak-Nar is a metropolis of gleaming brass and riveted iron, where the Grand Conclave debates and the guilds pursue profit with the fervour others reserve for gods.

Barak-Nar prizes knowledge above all, and its Navigators' Guild and Scholars keep the most complete charts of the aether-lanes anywhere in the skies. Its admirals are famed for cunning as much as courage, and its Kharadron Code is interpreted with a rigour that borders on the theological. To break contract in Barak-Nar is to be cast out utterly, stripped of guild, endrin, and name.

Yet even the City of the First Sunrise is not immune to the age's dangers. The skies swarm with the flying beasts of the Orruk Warclans and worse, and Barak-Nar's ironclads range far to guard the trade-routes that are the port's lifeblood. Wealth, to the Kharadron, is survival — and Barak-Nar means to survive when younger sky-ports have fallen from the heavens.
